| This SBB Cargo loco has just crossed the border from Switzerland into Germany and approaches Bietingen with the 11.10 Zurich to Stuttgart IC train. It will shortly arrive at Singen where the train has to reverse and the Swiss loco will be replaced by a DB loco for the rest of the journey. This used to be a through service from Stuttgart to Milan using Italian Cisalpino ETR 470 tilting EMUs and later between Stuttgart and Zurich using DB ICE units which have now been deployed elsewhere and we have returned to traditional loco hauled trains often using rare DB electric types on the German section. |
