It's a race! Here we are at the west end of Astoria Queen's vast Sunnyside Yard seeing the inbound No.7 and the westbound ACELA about to plunge into the East River tunnels on their respective trips into Manhattan. Above the ACELA is the LIRR freight line, the white bridge is Thompson Ave and the topmost green bridge the No. 7 recently negotiated on its trek from Flushing Queens. That low level tail out-of-service track in the middle of the picture I hate to imagine what ever uses that!
