A former Chicago and North Western covered hopper gets a fresh coat of light gray paint (used on Union Pacific covered hoppers) in the paint building at the UP’s De Soto, Missouri, car shops on September 28, 2011. A pair of movable lifts that travel the length of the walls is utilized and is well suited to cover the large surface areas of freight cars.
