When I was a young railfan, nothing was more impressive than the look and the sound of a 20 cylinder SD45. The UP 3640 was built for UP by EMD in March 1968, pictured standing proudly in factory delivered 'Dependable Transportation' livery at Provo Yard on Oct. 28, 1975. It was retired by the UP in June 1984 and sold for scrap to Bargains Galore in Vancouver, Washington by Feb. 1986.
