Amtrak No 5’s engineer gets onboard GE P42DC No. 134 on the morning of October 14, 2012. This view of the California Zephyr’s station stop in Denver from Wewatta Street will soon vanish. For several years, while Denver Union Station was being renovated as part of a major reconstruction of the real estate in this part of LoDo (Lower Downtown), Amtrak trains 5 and 6 used a temporary depot across from Coors Field. On February 28, the trains will move back home to Denver Union Station.
