The "Haynesville Shale" gas drilling boom hit Mansfield, Louisiana in 2009. By mid-2010, daily aggregates trains were delivering various aggregates to two aggregates delivery points in Mansfield. In this photo, a KCS aggregates train is about to drop off 20 gondolas full of aggregate in downtown Mansfield.
As drilling for gas wells slowed, deliveries of aggregates waned and now this delivery point is closed.
