Gone, but not completely forgotten. This disconnected branch off the Pokey Mainline has been out of use for years. Bridge pictured here crosses Tug River into Kentucky, where the infamous Majestic Colleries were located. Climbing a 2% grade for the 1st mile, then 3% afterward, must have been a sight to see. The old company store still stands, and also two wooden trestles (one with some of the piers removed to accommodate a local's trailer move). Also, the now razed tipple had the distinction of being on the cover of LIFE magazine...
