Remarks & Notes

A very close call. A southbound UP freight running over BNSF's Hinckley Subdivision from Superior to Minneapolis escaped major damage when this wheelset on a loaded tanker six cars back from the power derailed, coming to rest on a bridge near the Minnesota-Wisconsin state line. A new wheelset was waiting at a road crossing just south of here and Hulcher arrived to lift the car. The local volunteer fire department responded and was ready should any leaks develop.
