One of the last 2 remaining D&H engines leads the Saratoga to Kenwood Yard (Port of Albany) turn job local on it's NB return move as it crosses the frozen snow covered Erie Canal at Lock E-3 (behind the bridge). Trailing unit is CP 7311, an ex D&H unit. The historic 259' Day Peckinpaugh, a canal motorship, is docked for the winter in the canal. Built in 1921, narrow and low to clear bridges and canal locks, it was the last working freighter on the Erie Canal and was retired in 1994. It served both the Erie Canal and Great Lakes.
