A one-time ever (at least that I am aware of) detour of the Southwest Chief on an old Pacific Electric line occurred today with Amtrak #3 took the Metrolink San Gabriel Sub, which includes parts of the old Santa Fe Second District, the Southern Pacific Covina Branch, and here, the original Pacific Electric San Bernardino Line, which now sits in the center of the San Bernardino Freeway.
