Remarks & Notes
My first railroad book was Lucius Beebe's "High Iron." It was one of his early books that helped set the standard of the "smoking wedge." In collecting every one of his books, I often wondered if he would have ever used one of mine. I like to think that at the very least he would be pleased with this one. It has a little bit of Charles Clegg in it too I must say. Besides how can a rail photo go wrong when the one visible crewman is named Casey?

Good Light, Good Scenery, and a Train

Album created by member Lee Kirchhoff

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
