I never spent much time on the Rock as I didn't start shooting slides until 1975-76 and even though I traveled the mid-west before it shut down I always seemed to concentrate on Soo, BN, CNW and the GB&W, with a little Milwaukee thrown in. The Rock just didn't catch my attention probably because I spent most of my time in MI, MN and WI. It's line to the Twin Cities did have some traffic and while following a CNW job near Albert Lea I ran across this 51 car northbound wading through the deep grass powered by probably what would be two of the Rock's best units. SD's 4794 and 4793 are on the point of this Twin Cities bound manifest.
