Remarks & Notes
Back in 1995, the Union Pacific converted four tank cars to serve as diesel fuel tenders. The program placed a single tank car between two new General Electric C44ACs assigned to unit coal trains in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming. The program came to an end due to wear and tear on the fuel tenders themselves, since tank car frames are not designed to handle the buffeting and differing longitudinal loads that locomotives are designed for (UtahRails.net).

Do you ever get the feeling as a model railroader, that you just might be creating something not "prototypical?" Same here.

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.

A much needed album given that there is no "category" to identify these pictures
