Remarks & Notes
SCL U30B 1700 has been freshly painted and will be part of a display train that will tour SCL with various rolling stock displaying the new SCL logo and lettering. The exhibition train was part of "The New Railroad is Here" campaign featuring the new look of the railroad subsequent to the SAL-ACL merger which had taken place on July 1, 1967. An interesting note about this photograph: The 1700 was first out on one of the ready tracks at Bryan Park, but was buried between locomotives on either side making it impossible to photograph. The hostler happened to be on the unit and graciously moved it out into the open where it could be photographed.
