High ball at Brush Tunnel. You can hear it coming for at least a solid minute before it arrives. The tunnel conducts the sound of its approach even before it enters the the east portal. It's a bit like an approaching tidal wave that suddenly breaks with a thunderous crash as the locomotive bursts into the open spewing smoke and steam, climbing the grade toward Frostburg. It's spectacular enough during the day, but it really stimulates the senses when you experience it at night!
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
