Remarks & Notes
The last mile of Rio Grande's Bingham Branch climbed a 2.92% grade from the Jordan River crossing to the mainline connection at Midvale. The Midvale Tramp is pictured 'home free' as it passes the Midvale yard office on July 30, 1988. Even though the Rio Grande has been gone for a long time, this tiny cinder block structure has been the center of Utah Railway's Salt Lake Valley operations since trackage rights were granted from the Union Pacific in 1996.
