Remarks & Notes
STEAM IN THE ADIRONDACKS. The Corinth FD prepares to water CPRR 63. The Leviathan is set to run between Corinth and North Creek on the Saratoga & North Creek Railway on September 14th and 15th. On Friday September 6th, the engine arrived on the property and was assembled, fueled and watered for its initial run to North Creek. Prior to the D&H purchasing this line in the late 1800's, the Adirondack Railway rostered a fleet of five 4-4-0's similar to the Leviathan. Three of these were built by the nearby Schenectady Locomotive Works which later became Alco. So this engine is historically accurate for this line, most closely matching up in design with Adirondack Railway #2 and #3.
