Remarks & Notes
Class 34 GE U26C # 34-120, still wearing its original SAR red livery, is one of the stalwarts of the fleet that operates the Krugersdorp - Mafikeng line. This veteran locomotive is basking in late afternoon light at Battery siding, heading up a light engine move with three stablemates and waiting for clearance to proceed to Tarlton to collect the daily fuel tanker train to Botswana. The thunderstorm in the background is most unusual for a winters afternoon on the highveld, but has at least produced a nice rainbow!

For the train and storm chaser. Trains with thunderstorms, dark clouds, rain, lightning, hurricanes - tropical storms, funnel clouds, storm light, rainbows, and snow storms.
