Mikado Double Header - Valley Railroad 2-8-2s No 40 and 3025 team up to power two trains on the afternoon of August 21, 2013. Pictured here is the final run of the day. The shop forces recently finished work on 40s running gear, and wanted to do some full-scale tests to make sure all was well. Since these tests were being conducted on revenue runs, 3025 was also placed in the consist as an insurance policy in the event anything went awry with 40. Nothing went wrong during the tests, and 40 was put into service the following day. Also visible in the background is the Becky Thatcher - the "riverboat" portion of the Essex Steam Train and Riverboat.
