Pride of the Fleet. In Amtrak's 42nd year of existence, Amtrak 42, the Veterans unit, is likely considered the pride of the fleet. Minus the special logo, maybe Amtrak should make this the standard paint scheme. In this scene the engine sits in the lead on the WB Lake Shore Limited waiting for it's 7:05pm departure time from Rensselaer.
Once home to Delaware & Hudson's corporate headquarters, today Albany is home to Amtrak's Maple Leaf, Adirondack and NY Regional Trains. This album is a behind the scenes tour of the complex. Thanks to all photographers who contributed to this album.
