| The slowest passenger train in the world. Perhaps, you can see the slowest regular passenger train in the world (excluding mountains and cable railroads). M62 locomotive crawls with suburban passenger train "Zemtsy - Zharkovsky" near Zemtsy station. This train covers a distance of 47 kilometers (29 miles) in 3 hours & 20 minutes... Slower than 15 kilometers (10 miles) per hour! The reason of such low average speed is in a terrible condition of railway "Zemtsy - Zharkovsky". Major repairs were carried here a long time ago. Maybe someone of RPN members knows slower passenger train? It would be interesting... |
