Something the Cumbres & Toltec is trying this year is a weekly train run on Sundays, called the Sunday Express. It starts at Chama, runs up the 4% to Cumbres, where the passengers get a picnic lunch served in the new pavilion, then the train runs back downhill into Chama. Here, 487 leads the Sunday Express uphill at the 1st Highway crossing since town, creating its own shadow due to the heavy smoke it's putting out.
