Three of TFR's class 38 Bo-Bo electro-diesels are running in electric mode on the 3kV DC section of the CoalLink line west of Ermelo, returning empty coal wagons to the mines around Witbank. These wagons, mostly of type CAR, are used for domestic coal shipments, as opposed to the high capacity wagons used for export coal.
