Amidst a Summer thunderstorm, a quartet of Montana Rail Link SD70ACe's lead the second section of a Laurel, MT to Pasco, WA manifest out of Helena. The helpers couldn't be cut in mid train due to hazardous materials placement along with empty cars, so the crew decided to use the helpers to lead the rest of the train. The first section, led by a duo of Canadian National EMD's and a BNSF GE would soon stall on Mullan Pass, creating a bottleneck that'd take the rest of the afternoon to clean up. Montana Mountain Railroading at its finest!
