| Greenhorn Trestle is tucked into a shallow box valley high in the Montana Rockies. The area was once a rich gold camp with producing lode and placer claims. Not much remains of the camp. A few derelict cabins hid in the tress and the trails that once were an outlet for the riches. A worker when driving the pilings for Greenhorn was said to have found a large gold nugget and gave it to the land owner in good faith. A gorgeous place to spend the morning! |
