Remarks & Notes
Santa Fe's all-sleeper, extra-fare Chief climbs westbound past the little coal-mining town of Morley in Raton Pass. Morley was a typical company town with company houses, a school, a post office, a company store, a church and an infirmary. Its population reached 917 by 1930 but then began to decline. In 1956 Colorado Fuel and Iron closed the mine and the little town of Morley was no more.
