Santa Fe’s eastbound 352 train rips though Dallas City, Illinois, on the afternoon of May 31, 1986. The main line crosses Oak Street and divides downtown Dallas City in half, but with the maximum track speed of 70 mph, the trains don’t block the street long! Merger scheme (ill-fated with SP) GE B23-7 No. 6374 leads the Peoria-bound train.
