Remarks & Notes

The 1979 Pacific Railroad Society "Mountain Outin" passenger special, with Amtrak SDP40F 518 and 517, has crossed over the SP diamond at Colton and is headed toward the Santa Fe yard in San Bernardino. Seen on the siding is UP 3040, which is a former EMD SD40X demonstrator, as it performs its duties as the Colton switcher.
