| Besides along Lincoln Avenue in Santa Ana, Calif., where else do trains run so fast so close to private homes? Here was former UP E9 No. 912 racing Amtrak Train 770 at maximum authorized speed of 79 onward to L.A. on May 8, 1976. Envision 22 such trains daily today. Amtrak 417 was retired in Feb. 1985. |
