Remarks & Notes
Susquehanna hosted three CSX detour trains over the Memorial Day holiday weekend due to a signal project on the Mohawk Subdivision west of Albany, NY. These trains were routed over the NYS&W from Syracuse, NY to Ridgefield Park, NJ and all were high-priority intermodal symbols. By far the largest of the three moves was Q156-26, reported to be 8,500 tons and 8,700 feet long. As such, it was the only detoured train to receive add-on power in the form of a Susquehanna SD60. Q156 is seen here rolling downgrade along state Rt. 23, with the engineer giving a big wave to the large group of railfans assembled on the shoulder of the highway to record the train's passage. Power was CSXT 832, CSXT 5426 and NYSW 3800.
