The wayfreight has setout 14 corn loads for the ethanol facility and pulls a handful of mash and ethanol back towards the main. The Coal Creek Station, owned by Great River Energy, opened in 1981 and is North Dakota's largest power plant and also is the largest lignite-fired electricity plant in the state as well. The power plant serves another purpose besides powering the neighboring communities, the heat generated from the coal combustion is also utilized in the Blue Flint Ethanol Plant which is attached to the power plant facility.
