Everything that makes the Yorkshire Dales so special seems to be caught in this scene at Linethwaite Farm. This wonderful Jacobean Farmhouse with it's enclosing dry stone walls and sheep, overlooks the line from Carnforth to Settle Junction, a route that has seen relatively little steam in recent times. This is a real shame, for although it may not boast the 'grandeur' of the Settle & Carlisle route, it has a beauty and character of its own. I spent the remainder of this afternoon exploring the area and I will be returning, hopefully to capture more of its splendid scenery. Taken from private farmland with permission.
