With a freeze-damaged Alco S-4 out of service for the Claremont Concord Railroad's West Lebanon, New Hampshire operation, a deal to temporarily lease the Vermont Railway's GP38-3 206 was reached. The unit is kept on the Vermont Rail System wye in White River Junction and retrieved when the CCRR needs to use it. At 3 am on February 2, the VTR 206 holds the north leg of the wye, while VTR GP40-2s 307 and 303 are on the service track near the depot. The Green Mountain Railroad sign to the left of the crossbuck is on the White River Jct. depot, operated by the GMRC.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
