Remarks & Notes

Slightly over three hours into the new month, a heavy loaded coal train slips on wet snow covered rail as it climbs the final of three stiff grades over the New River Subdivision from Gauley to Prince. Heavy snow squalls associated with very violent wind gusts have resulted in near white out conditions... Another night of Appalachian railroading on the former Chesapeake & Ohio.
