A Nevada Northern freight powered by two smoking Alcos is westbound (southbound) at Adverse, Nevada, on the afternoon of February 2, 2007. NNRY No 105 is a RS2 still in Kennecott yellow, with orange RS-3 No. 109 trailing. Most RS-2s and RS-3s were built to operate long-hood forward, and No. 105 is operating correctly. This freight was operated as a prelude to two days of steam-powered trains during Nevada Northern’s annual “Winter Spectacular” photo trains.
An attempt to put the best picture of engines that represent each of America's railroads. When a better picture of an engine/type is found, it will be added.
