Remarks & Notes
Switching Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal on April 15th, 1982, is Amtrak GP7 761. The old GP is bringing in a cut of Amfleet cars for a San Diegan. Amtrak 761 began life as Frisco GP7 621. It was later sold to Precision National Corporation (as their #621), who in turn sold it to Amtrak. Note the out-of-service tracks in the foreground, with the switch frog and points removed. Thirty years later, in 2012, things at LAUPT had gotten so busy that new trackage was installed!

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
