| Late on a May evening CNW 4253 waits for yard space at North Green Bay after spending the day working local industries. The HE15's were rebuilt from EMD GP7's at Oelwein Shops with High Efficiency Cummins KTA 3068 engines rated at 1500hp. They seemed fairly effective in yard service but apparently the CNW, with a huge fleet of geeps wasn't interested in starting a re-engine program of such a large scale or perhaps the cost savings on re-building these units wasn't worth the trouble. |
