Remarks & Notes
Former London & North Western Railway G2 (LMS 7F) 0-8-0 No 49421 approaches one of the original pair of single bore Standege tunnels with a Leeds Copley Hill to Liverpool goods train in 1954. The two original 3 mile 64 yard tunnels were closed many years ago but I believe there is a plan to bring one back into use due to the increase in traffic over this important trans-Pennine route.Another gem taken by the late Kenneth Field on 6 x 9 fil m (120 size).
