There are certain occasions when the weather is of the least concern when regarding photography - you're going to photograph the event come what may.Such was the occasion here,when "Castle" class loco 5043 "Earl Of Mount Edgcumbe" worked part of the "Great Britain V" railtour.This was the first time since 1965 that a "Castle" loco worked a Gloucester to London Paddington service.The weather was,to put it mildly,a trifle blustery,with high winds and driving rain,although this did enable the 1936 built loco to put on a fine display as it ascended the incline from Gloucester.Here the train is about to pass under Stroud Road Bridge,about half a mile into its journey - a bridge that I'd been stood on for about ten minutes,long enough to get absolutely soaked to the skin.What great fun this pastime of ours can be.
