| A Burlington Northern freight heads west through the scenic Badlands of North Dakota at Sully Springs on the afternoon of June 29, 1994. Leading the train is a former Southern Railway GP30 rebuilt by EMD for BN to GP39-2 standards and labeled a GP39E, No. 2759. Trailing is one of BN’s unique GE B30-7A B-units, No. 4049. Also in the consist is a former Northern Pacific SW12 No. 224 on home turf and traveling to Glendive, Montana, for some maintenance work, and finally, two GE C30-7s. |
