Remarks & Notes
The Empire Builder is running north to Seattle after entering the Kent Valley at Auburn. Prior to 1981, Amtrak operated the Empire Builder over the Former NP route through Stampede Pass. Behind the two SDP40F's is a former Great Northern heater car that was converted from an F3-B unit in 1966 to supplement steam heat on the Empire Builder and other GN passenger trains.

Pictures of things often unseen in the world of railroading. Interesting equipment, operations, and people that help the railroad go around.
