| It's not quite as fancy as Switzerland's Landwasserviadukt, but New Zealand makes do with the locality of Staircase (population:0).
After leaving an unmanned passing loop of the same name, westbound trains pierce tunnel 4 in the background and then cross the Staircase Viaduct, the tallest of 4 on the line at 73 metres (240 ft), before heading into curved tunnel 5.
