In the late 1980s the Texas Limited was privately operated between Houston and Galveston, primarily on the old Galveston, Houston and Henderson. With a leased ATSF GP9 it was returning northward across the causeway back to Houston; hence, the long hood forward and the round end obs next to the 2240.
