Happy 25th Anniversary MRL! It's hard to believe, but MRL has been running trains in this territory for longer than Burlington Northern did, and in the not so distant future, MRL itself will have outlasted the time BN was around. In a look at the "old" MRL, eastbound 640 Local blasts through Manhattan, Montana, with a crazy SD9/SD7/SD9/SD9/GP9/GP35/GP9/GP9 lash-up.
There are times when many engines, cars or cabooses are concentrated in a location. Such sites are for storage, economic reasons, active power needs or for rebuilding. For others, wear and tear have brought their usefulness to and end.
