This strange creature parked at Bord na Mona's Blackwater Works was once a Massey-Ferguson 135 tractor, converted by the railroad's shop forces into a rail-mounted utility vehicle. Bits of ingenuity and efficiency such as this, turning surplus farm equipment into an effective tool for the maintenance forces, are just one of the many reasons I find BnM's peat bog lines so fascinating. On this particular example, welding equipment is mounted on the back for field repairs and tool chests hold all manners of vital gear; some units are even equipped for weed-spraying duties.
