I've seldom seen a locomotive so beautifully turned out as was 61306 at yesterday's ELR gala, seen as she crosses the River Irwell bridge at Burrs. Built in 1948, she was released to traffic slightly too late to carry LNER markings, but this early British Railways livery of apple green was virtually identical to the LNER version. Sadly for purists, the stock she is hauling is a complete dog's breakfast! A fine sight nonetheless.
