Remarks & Notes |
G&O’s 2391, a former high nose L&N GP9, idles at the head end of Knoxville & Holston River Railroad train 101 in Coster Yard while NS 1054 leads a northbound grain train on the mainline destined for Burnside, KY and points north. Coster is the site of a former major shop complex for Southern Railway and now is a busy interchange yard between NS and the KXHR. This summer evening finds a weekend KXHR job sorting inbound cars at Coster for the various metro Knoxville area rail customers. Photo taken with permission. |
