The N&W only owned 6 red C30-7's and 1 red SD40-2. Being low in numbers they were infrequent visitors to the D&H. So in one of their rare appearances, one leads a set of N&W run through power on an EB freight that originated in Buffalo (via Binghamton) past the Schenectady Amtrak station. ALSO OF NOTE, the second unit is GP30 NW 522, currently preserved at VMT. N&W power was a common site on the D&H dating back to the 1970's when N&W took an ownership position in the D&H and EL. In 2012 NS engines are still a common site on the old D&H, continuing a practice that has lasted over 40 years and through multiple owners.
This gallery contains photos of equipment and properties that became, were and used to be part of the Delaware & Hudson Railway. This gallery also contains photos of equipment paying tribute to the D&H or its predecessors.
