The drive from Minot to Helena didn't seem worth it after the beginning of the last day; we had lost something valuable to us in the hotel, my railfan girlfriend hurt herself while foaming the helper set, and we quickly realized we were at our budget for the trip. But, after following the second section of a Laurel-Pasco over Mullan Pass (they had to double the hill with the MRL helpers due to hazardous placement, couldn't cut them mid train) to Elliston we quickly realized the trip was totally worth it. MRL 4307 with the friendliest crew I've ever met rolls West into the setting sun after a line of nasty storms rumbled through, with the remaining 48 cars in tow.
