| A fairly uncommon (at least on the Southern) Baldwin unit rolls southward along the main line--passing the Salisbury passenger station--with a single reefer in tow. In deference to the summer heat, a crew member is riding on the front platform to catch a little breeze. The 2289 was built in 1948 and would be retired just a few years after this shot was taken. |
